Blue Monofilament Polyvinylidene Fluoride
Is a new generation synthetic monofilament non-absorbable suture, inert, very smooth and as it has virtually no memory, it is ideal for skin closure as well as vascular and orthopaedic surgery.
Black Braided SilkDescription
CliniSilk is a natural non-absorbable suture. Silk is a protein filament produced by the silk worm. CliniSilk sutures are dyed black for better visibility and are coated with silicone to make them smoother and to prevent capillarity.
Areas where non-absorbable sutures are indicated without the need for long term wound support. The most popular indication is for skin closure and temporary ligation. CliniSilk sutures are not indicated for Cardio Vascular or Neurological procedures and prolonged wound support exceeding 30 days. Black braided silk is a natural product and could reduce in tensile strength as enzymatic absorption takes place over time.
Silk sutures exhibit moderate tissue reaction.
Users should be familiar with surgical procedures and techniques before employing CliniSilk sutures. Because it is a braided suture it should not be used in the presence of infected or contaminated incisions. CliniSilk sutures should not be used for wound support exceeding 30 days. Black braided silk is a natural product consisting of protein that would be enzymatically absorbed by the body and could result in a reduction of tensile strength over time.
Blue Monofilament NylonDescription
CliniLon is a non-absorbable synthetic monofilament suture made from polyamide 6 & 66. It is blue in colour. CliniLon sutures meet all the general requirements established by the B.P., the U.S.P. and the E.P.
CliniLon sutures are intended for use in procedures where non-absorbable, short term monofilament sutures are indicated, especially skin and facia closure. CliniLon sutures are not indicated for Cardio Vascular or Neurological procedures and prolonged wound support exceeding 30 days. Nylon sutures do absorb moisture over time which could lead to tensile strength reduction.
CliniLon sutures exhibit excellent tissue tolerance, having virtually no tissue reaction.
Users should be familiar with surgical procedures and techniques before employing CliniLon sutures. Acceptable surgical practice should be followed with respect to drainage and closure of contaminated or infected wounds. CliniLon sutures should not be used for wound support exceeding 30 days as the nylon material absorbs moisture over time. This could lead to tensile strength reduction.
Black Braided Polyester
non-absorbable sutures are made from single strands of pure Polyester, braided to form a thread. It is unaffected by body fluids and due to the silicone treatment reduces capillarity. Ideal for cardiac surgery.
Blue Monofilament Polypropylene
non-absorbable sutures are made from Polypropylene which is a synthetic monofilament, produced from a Linear Hydrocarbon Polymer. It is a smooth suture with minimal tissue drag and due to its high ability to remain flexible and its tensile strength and inertness it is the ideal suture for cardiovascular work where indefinite wound support is needed.
sutures are non absorbable sutures manufactured from long staple flax fibres which have been twisted together. They are packaged dry, but gain a substantial and immediate increase in strength if wetted before use. Intended uses of Clinilin sutures are G.I. Anastamosis, hernia repair and tonsilectomies.
